About Peter

Category : Blog, Family

I am from Prince Edward Island, Canada and that is where I spent nearly all my life.  I mostly remember really liking singing while listening to songs like “Hey Jude” and “Let it Be” by the Beatles in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I also really loved Rolling Stones, and John Fogerty. It would be a long time before I got a chance to do anything with music. After being married for 20 years and having 7 children, I decided to start writing my own songs that reflect my struggles in life and my relationship with God that was developing. Being a self-employed carpenter allowed me enough free time in the winter months to concentrate on writing. Eventually, the road led to two trips to Nashville in 2009, to record an album called Broad Road”.

I had often quoted a Bible verse Ps 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart”. I felt a desire of my heart was for a lot of people to hear my music. Frustrated with the time going by, and having experienced some painful lessons, I came to see that if it really was the desire of my heart  for  people to hear my music, I could have a better chance of more people hearing it by giving it away. It wasn’t long after the thought that I really got to liking the idea. Like a lot of other people, I would have liked to do a lot more in the music world, and I still hope to, but I am grateful that the Lord gave me  songs, and I am satisfied that I put in a good effort in getting my songs recorded. There is a free download of my album Broad Road on this website.
Be Blessed!

Hello~I heard your song "Walk Right Up!" on the radio at 6am on a country music station I wake up to, while still lying in bed trying to talk myself into getting up. Didn't take long before my feet hit the floor to one of the happiest songs I've ever heard. Just absolutely loved it. I live in the deep South, in the beautiful State of Alabama, about 90 miles from the Alabama/Florida Line. Had never heard of you or the song, and it took me a good half hour to get through to the radio station so I could get the name of the song and artist. I played it for friends, they loved it also! So, you've got new fans down here in Lower Alabama! Thanks so much for sharing your music with us. Just wanted you to know we appreciate your hard work. May God continue to use you in His plan.
